Livermore: Charlotte Ave. area

In Livermore, subdivisions south of East Avenue along and near Charlotte Avenue incorporate greenbelts including a trail, above, and a vineyard, below.

Narrow streets, with parking only at turnouts, reduce paved area and hence runoff. Streets have no curbs or curbs on one side only, so water flows to landscaping. Swales in public areas are mostly planted with fescue that does not require mowing.

Across Charlotte Avenue is Bruno Canziani Park, where a detention pond is a grassy field in summer.
